At the same time, European Community’s Green Deal pushes toward the energy saving objectives and the conscious use of environmental resources.
It’s an urgent need to consider the economic impact of compressed air production on the total cost of energy. Having up-to-date control tools it’s mandatory to obtain real-world data.
HOW DOES IT WORK
OptimisAir activates an iterative process of progressive reduction of the amount of pneumatic energy introduced into the cylinder and at the same time monitors the operating parameters of the cylinder itself.
The device reduces the amount of compressed air used while verifying in real-time that the kinematic operating parameters of the cylinder do not change.
This occurs without dissipation since no pressure reductions are made. The amount of compressed air to be used is quantified and used at its maximum pneumatic energy value.
This allows to eliminate overconsumption (due, for example, to safety margins in the selection of the diameter of the cylinders) and at the same time reduce back pressures and waste due to dissipation, optimizing the cylinder system and improving its thermodynamic performance.
The OptimisAir device can be sold already pre-installed on the cylinder or to be installed on existing cylinders. It can be installed on all types of double-acting cylinders with a magnetic rod without having to modify the machine or system.

HOW MUCH DOES COMPRESSED AIR COST?
The cost of energy is constantly increasing and unforeseen events, such as the pandemic and world conflicts, inevitably affect it.
The European Community consumes 1,013 TWh of electricity for industrial use each year, of which 20%, equal to 203 TWh per year, is destined on average for the production of compressed air.
If the average energy consumption for the industrial sector attributable to compressed air is 20%, for some energy-intensive fields the incidence can reach up to 40%.
For companies in the energy-intensive sectors, this means that on a bill of € 100,000 per month, about € 20,000 are destined for the production of compressed air, also to drive pneumatic cylinders.
